Benefits of Organic Cotton Clothing

Before we dive into the details of Pact specifically, I want to say I few words on the benefits of buying clothing made from organic cotton.

  • Cotton is a natural fiber that is breathable (unlike polyester, nylon or other synthetic fabrics), so it is more comfortable to wear.
  • Farming practices for organic cotton are better for the planet because they maintain soil health and keep toxic chemicals out of waterways.
  • Organic cotton uses up to 81% less water than conventional cotton and has a lower carbon footprint.
  • Organic cotton is safer for your skin because certified organic cotton fabric must be free from bleach, formaldehyde, toxic dyes and pesticide residues.

Reasons to Love Pact Organic Clothing

Pact was founded in 2009 by entrepreneur Brendan Synnott with a mission to build “Earth’s Favorite Clothing Company“, with a focus on high quality, ethical fashion as opposed to the fast fashion that is typical of the clothing industry these days.

Here are some of the reasons why I appreciate and recommend Pact apparel:

  • Pact’s products are certified organic by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS)
  • PACT partners with Fair Trade certified factories and items are certified from Fair Trade USA™
  • Their clothing is sweatshop-free and child-labor-free
  • They package and ship in sustainable materials including Vela paper bags
  • Pact partners with a company to offset the carbon footprint of their shipments
  • They offer a clothing donation program with a prepaid shipping label to send back used Pact clothing
  • Pact’s clothing is stylish but also classic so you can wear it for years
  • They come out with new items each season, but it is definitely NOT fast fashion!

Favorite Pact Organic Styles

Over the years I’ve worn many pieces of clothing from Pact. The brand has sent me some items to try but I’ve also purchased on my own dime many times – a true sign that I LOVE this brand!

Pact is probably best known for its organic cotton basics like T-shirts, underwear and socks but they also have fun tops, cute dresses, comfy pants and high performance leggings and activewear.

Pact Underwear & Organic Cotton Basics

The first product I tried from Pact was their organic cotton underwear. My favorite style is the lace waist brief. It has a tagless, soft lace waistband and comes in many colors. Pact’s underwear styles include a classic bikini, boy shorts, high cut briefs, hipsters and thongs – and they have seasonal colors which is fun. My husband wears their men’s boxer briefs and they have four other styles of men’s organic cotton underwear as well.

Pact does a great job with all the organic cotton basics including bralettes, camisoles, bodysuits, t-shirts and socks. The men’s organic cotton undershirts are especially nice and come in both black or white.

All my favorite non-toxic underwear brands!

Pact Sweaters & Tops

Pact’s tops vary seasonally with mostly short sleeves in the summer and long-sleeved shirts and sweaters in the colder months. The designs are simple but stylish and there is always a great mix of colors available.

One of my favorite sweaters in my wardrobe is the organic cotton Boyfriend Sweater (shown in the pic above). It’s super thick, with a V-neck style and is so comfy! It is out of stock right now but usually comes back each Fall.

Pact Dresses, Skirts & Pants

Pact has really upgraded their stock of dresses and bottoms in the past couple years. This summer I picked out a lightweight gauzy dress that is SO cute and also a jumpsuit that has been a seasonal favorite. I also have a pair of their twill pants which are perfect for running around town and a flared skirt that can be dressed up or down.

Pact Leggings, Activewear & Loungewear

Pact is well known for their comfy, organic clothing – so whether you need activewear, loungewear or sleepwear – they have something for you! I practically live in my pair of Pact joggers and they have adorable sleepwear styles including sleep tanks, shorts and bathrobes. Pact’s organic cotton leggings are super soft and unlike many conventional leggings, are PFAS free.

Pact Clothing FAQs

Is all Pact clothing 100% organic cotton?

All of the cotton that Pact uses in its clothing is certified organic cotton. For clothing that needs a little stretch (think undies, leggings and other fitted items), a small amount of elastane is added to the fabric. However, they do have many items that are 100% organic cotton with nothing else added.

Are all Pact items Fair Trade Certified?

Pact clothing bears the Fair Trade logo whenever possible. In some countries, the Fair Trade Certification isn’t applicable but you can rest assured that all their clothing is manufactured in safe facilities and is always sweatshop-free and child-labor-free.

Is Pact Clothing Made in the USA?

No, but this is because it makes both economical and environmental sense for their clothing to be made where the organic cotton is harvested, which is typically in India. Every product description includes details about where the item is made.

What is Pact’s return policy?

If you are unhappy with your Pact purchases for any reason, the returns are easy! You can drop items off at a Happy Return Bar location near you for FREE (they’ll find your closest option when you start your return). Or you can print a label at home and drop off with UPS for a $3 processing fee. Overall, I’ve found Pact’s customer service to be excellent!
