Unique reusable products to try via mindfulmomma.com

So, I bet you’re already using reusable bags and bottles. Maybe you’re even using reusable lunch supplies and wrapping paper. But I bet there are still a few areas where switching to a reusable product would be fairly painless and would help lower your trash output. Are you up for trying something new?

Anne Riggs Designs

I discovered an Etsy shop that sells some really great reusable products that you might not be using yet. Anne Riggs is a retired teacher living in Maine who loves to sew. She creates handmade, reusable products out of beautiful fabrics and sells them in her Etsy shop, Anne Riggs Designs.

Take a peek at her beautiful work and think about whether any of these products would make sense for you:

Reusable Bowl Covers

Bye-bye plastic wrap! These reusable bowl covers are so pretty you’ll never want to go back to traditional wraps and foils. Made from food-safe, laminated cotton with an elastic edge, they will fit snugly around your bowl, keeping food fresh and protected. The bowl covers come in a set of 3 (small, medium and large) and can be machine washed.

Reusable Makeup Pads

Disposable cleansing and makeup pads have become quite popular in this throw-away age. But why waste when you can reuse? These reusable makeup pads come in an assortment of pretty fabrics with a soft cotton terry backing. After use, wash them in the mesh laundry bag that is included with your order.

Reusable Paper Towels

Such an ingenious idea – this reusable paper towel roll is a set of 12 reusable paper towels that snap together into a roll.  Each towel is made of two layers, one premium cotton in a lovely print, the other cotton terrycloth. The roll will fit on any paper towel holder, but it is also stable enough to sit on your counter top. The towels are machine washable and dryable and can be used over and over again.

What are your favorite reusable products?

I bought the reusable bowl covers earlier this year and absolutely love them! I had not been using plastic wrap but had not found any other alternative other than a towel draped over the plate/bowl. This is much better!

Did you buy them from this same Etsy artist Green Bean Michelle? I had never seen this type of bowl cover before she contacted me! Such an awesome invention!

Love all the cute prints and patterns you featured! I’ve made our own bowl covers and unpaper towels, both of which we’ve been using for a little over a year. Not only are they more eco-friendly, they’re also way cuter than disposables. I use plain old washcloths to remove makeup, but now I’m inspired to sew myself some cute ones.

How great that you sew your own bowl covers and towels Heather. I love to sew but have not had much time for it lately. Everything’s better with cute fabrics, right?

Great products! I like that it will fit on a paper towel holder.
