It’s no secret that eating homecooked food is the backbone of a healthy, natural lifestyle. Cooking a healthy meal for your family is rewarding on so many levels – turning real food ingredients into yummy food and knowing that it is nourishing your kiddos and helping them grow healthy and strong!
But there is one potential downside. If your cookware contains toxic non-stick chemicals, they may be leaching into that healthy food. Yuck! That’s enough to make you lose your appetite pretty quick.
Here at Mindful Momma, I’m all about helping you find safe, non-toxic products, and cookware is no exception. Today, I want to give you a review of one of my favorite non-toxic cookware brands: 360 Cookware.
360 Cookware Review – What Makes It Special?
360 Cookware makes heirloom quality, stainless steel cookware and bakeware that is built to last a lifetime. All products are designed and manufactured in the USA (not in China, like most cookware).
360 Cookware is made of multiple layers of high-grade metals, with a core of bonded aluminum, encased in safe, non-leaching, surgical grade stainless steel. Aluminum is an excellent conductor of heat, but it can leach harmful metal into your food, so by surrounding it with stainless steel, your food never comes into contact with the aluminum. These sandwiched layers of metal are high-gauge, making it extremely tough and durable. And by the way – non-stick coatings like Teflon or PFOA are not used at all, so there is no concern about toxic chemical contamination.
The product line-up includes pots and pans of all sizes, as well as slow cookers and bakeware products. All products come with a lifetime warranty – making it the last cookware you will ever need to buy.

360 Cookware and Waterless Cooking
What is most unique about 360 Cookware is something called Vapor Technology. Vapor Technology is a technology that allows for waterless cooking.
The lids on 360 Cookware pans are specially designed to create a Vapor® Seal that captures heat and moisture and keeps it moving around your food, instead of escaping out the sides.
Here’s how waterless cooking works: The moisture from the food (wet vegetables or moist meat) turns to steam and the steam gathers at the top of the pot and creates a barrier. The magic happens when you spin the lid to create a full seal. The steam moves around in the pan, and that combined with the heat is what cooks the food. Ultimately, foods cook faster and at lower temps.
The benefits of waterless cooking are that the process locks in the natural flavors and nutrients in foods. Think about all the nutrients that are lost when you cook veggies in water and then pour that water down the drain. With waterless cooking, there is no extra water to pour off after cooking.
Waterless cooking also eliminates the need for added oils or fats, which can keep calories down. Additionally, waterless cooking is more energy efficient because only low heat is needed.
Waterless cooking requires a bit of a technique, including spinning the lid to make sure that the vapor seal has formed, but once you get the hang of it, you won’t want to go back to regular cooking.
Stainless Steel Slow Cooker
360 Cookware gifted me their 6 Quart Stainless Steel Slow Cooker so that I could give it a spin for myself. The 6-quart pot can be used directly on the stove, or on the electric slow-cooker base – so it’s kind of like two pots in one!
On the stovetop this pan is great for waterless cooking – I’ve done broccoli and other veggies using it. Instead of adding water to the pan to steam the veggies, you rinse them first and then add the wet vegetables to the pan (with no extra water). As I mentioned before, it takes a bit of experimenting to get the hang of waterless cooking, but it’s pretty cool once you do.
As a slow-cooker, it is perfect for stews or a meat roast that needs to cook slowly over a long period of time. You can braise the meat on the stovetop before starting the slow cooker if you want to get that nice browned flavor. If you have a big family, this 6-quart pot will get a lot of use – but they have smaller sizes as well, including a 4-quart and a 2.3 quart size.
Stainless Steel Bakeware
Most bakeware on the market is made from either untreated aluminum or metal coated with a non-stick coating, both of which could be leaching unwanted chemicals into the food you are cooking. 360 Cookware’s bakeware products are made from the same layers of stainless steel and aluminum as their cookware, only just a slightly smaller gauge thickness. Non-stick coatings are not used in any of the bakeware products.
The 9″ x 13″ Bake & Roast Pan that I own is a true multi-tasker – I use it for roasting veggies as well as baking cakes or other baked goods. The handles on the sides make it super easy to pick up – plus it’s beautiful enough to serve from!
The bakeware line also includes cookie sheets, cake and pie pans, loaf pans and roasting pans.

I currently cook only in stainless steel (All Clad) but I remember reading that as soon as it gets scratched (as is always does right away), it leaches nickel and something else unhealthy into the food. Does this cookware not? I’d be so excited to find an option I feel really comfortable with. I’ve been thinking about the cookware problem for decades. Thank you!

From what I’ve read stainless steel cookware is extremely safe! I’ve used All Clad for decades and I’ve never been concerned.
