How to make your laundry room more efficient and sustainable using these affordable, space-saving tips and products from IKEA.
Thank you to IKEA for sponsoring this post.
There’s not a whole lot of glamour in doing laundry, now is there? You just need to get it done. Quickly. Efficiently. DONE!
And I bet you don’t have a ton of space in your laundry room either. Who does? We recently remodeled our laundry room so it’s way nicer that it used to be, but it’s still a tiny space. To maximize the space we have, I turned to IKEA, because we all know IKEA does space-saving better than anyone else on the planet.
Here are 3 affordable, easy things YOU can do to make your laundry room more efficient and sustainable – so you can get on to the fun stuff faster!

Make Air Drying Easy
One of the biggest challenges you may have with your laundry room is no room to air dry clothes. Maybe you don’t have the space for one of those big drying racks that sit on the floor. This is where the GRUNDTAL drying racks from IKEA come to the rescue! When not in use, they lie flat against the wall. Just pop them up and you’ve got instant drying space!
Those fun green clothes pins are part of the TORKIS set that conveniently hangs from the drying rack.
Hanging socks and other small items couldn’t be easier than with the PRESSA hanging dryer.
How cool that the GRUNDTAL rack doubles as a place for drying sweaters and other bulky items.
Make Hand Washing Sustainable
Inevitably you’re going to have some hand wash as part of your laundry routine. The BOHOMEN rinsing tub helps you get it done efficiently, without wasting a whole wash tub full of water, earning you brownie points for the planet! Using plant-based, eco-friendly laundry detergent is another win for the environment.
Make Folding a Breeze
Have you ever had to fluff your laundry because it got wrinkled while sitting in the dryer or laundry basket? Yeah, me too. Not having a good place to fold laundry in my tiny laundry room was my biggest challenge. The NORBERG wall-mounted, drop-leaf table was my savior!
Now I just pop up the table whenever I need to fold or spread out the laundry. A brilliant energy and time-saving move!
What’s your best tip for laundry room efficiency?

Hi Micaela! I just found your blog and I love it! I’m lucky enough to have an IKEA about 20 minutes away from my house, so I’m going to add some of these products to my collection. Definitely sharing this one on Pinterest!

Hi there. The drying rack from ikea does not collapse like the one in your photo. Do you know where I can find one that folds down flat against the wall.

Hi Jill – This post is quite a few years old and it looks like they have changed this product since I wrote the post for them. What a bummer! Your best bet is to contact Ikea directly and ask them about it. Good luck in finding what you need!
