Easy Homemade Fruit Crisp with Your Favorite Fruit

This classic fruit crisp recipe is customizable with your favorite fruit or whatever fruit you happen to have on hand.

  • 6-8 cups diced fruit
  • 1/2 to 1 cup organic sugar
  • 1 to 3 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1 to 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional) pecans, walnuts, almonds
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 dash salt
  • 8 tablespoons butter softened
  1. Grease an 8 to 10 inch glass or ceramic baking pan

  2. Mix sugar, lemon juice and cornstarch together in a medium bowl. 

  3. Add diced fruit and mix until fruit is well coated.  

  4. Place mixture in prepared baking pan.

  5. Mix flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon and salt together in a small bowl.

  6. Stir in softened butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until mixture is crumbly. 

  7. Spread topping evenly over fruit in baking pan.

  8. Bake at 375 for about 30 minutes or until topping starts to brown and fruit is bubbling up from below.

  9. Serve warm with ice cream if desired.
