Do you mind if I get up on my soap box for a minute? Where I go on about what I think is important in the world? It won’t take long – promise!
As many of you know, I’ve been advocating for safer chemical laws for a many years now. I’ve seen some great strides made – like getting BPA out of baby products, carcinogens out of laundry detergent and recently, toxic flame retardants out of furniture – but there’s still a long way to go.
Sadly, there are still so many toxins in products we use every day – and there’s little meaningful regulation to assure product safety. What concerns me most is that the majority of people in this country have little understanding of the health risks of the products they are buying – because they assume it’s all safe. They don’t necessarily read about it in the newspaper, learn about it on NPR or read a whole slew of green & health related blogs like some of us do (guilty!) Many others, are aware of problem products, but live in rural areas where natural products can be hard to find.
Acure at Target
All that is a long-winded way of saying that I was happy to find Acure personal care products for sale at my local Target store recently. Acure is a better-for-you brand, sold at affordable prices and now it is available to the masses – YAY! All of Acure’s products are formulated with safe, natural and organic ingredients and many are certified USDA organic. I’ve tried and loved a lot of their products already and will be a repeat customer for years to come.
Over many years of being a Target shopper, I’ve been pretty impressed with the company’s commitment to corporate sustainability, responsible sourcing and to getting greener, safer, better products into the hands of their customers. No company is perfect and they certainly sell their fair share of not-so-great products – but I admire the effort and think it’s very important.
Awesome Products
Thought you might want to get the scoop on two Acure products I’ve tried recently:
Seriously Firming Facial Serum – A blend of nourishing oils including argan oil for moisture and borage oil to reduce inflammation. Lightweight formula soaks in quickly. Lovely lavender scent. Certified USDA Organic.
Rose + Red Tea Balancing Facial Toner – A quick squirt of this witch hazel and glycerin based formula helps balance out oil and moisture levels in skin. Rooibos red tea and rose water soothe and calm skin. Certified USDA Organic.
Have you seen Acure at Target yet?
(Note: I was not compensated to write this post but I did receive a couple of product samples. I genuinely love the brands I share on Mindful Momma and hope you will too!)

I don’t shop at Target but I’m always happy to hear about stores like them making some positive moves. While I may avoid big box stores, most Americans don’t and this is a chance for people to become a little more educated about toxins and have access to a better project so yay!

I agree this is a very good step! Although I recently started using Beautycounter products most of the time for my girls and myself at home, it’s important for convenience to always have a good choice at the local discount store. Traveling, in a hurry, running out, or just budget-conscious times make it extra important to support what you called ‘better-for-you’ products that are easy to find.

I couldn’t agree with you more! I wish there were more federal regulations in place to protect us from these toxins!
I love the Acure brand and have been using it for the past few years! I am glad that this wonderful brand is readily available through Target 🙂

Awesome! I’m glad to see safer products are being sold in places like Target – much easier for the average person to get them! Especially when it comes to products going on your face, you need to make sure it’s good stuff in them!
