Did you buy into that 100 calorie snack fad a few years back? The one where mini packs of cookies, chips and crackers were suddenly everywhere? I’m pretty sure they’re still selling that crap but many of us have realized that 100 calories of real food goes a lot further toward energizing our day than a bag of processed junk food.
There’s a new 100 calorie snack in town – one that’s based on the principles of a macrobiotic diet, using only real food ingredients like grains, nuts, seeds, plants and natural sweeteners. New Macrobar Minis are small versions of the popular bars from family owned, Wisconsin-based company, GoMacro. The mini size is just right for a quick, energy-boosting snack. Perfect to stash in your purse, gym bag, lunchbox or desk drawer. Macrobar minis are:
They come in 11 tempting flavors (and the cutest darn packaging!):
peanut butter chocolate chip
- banana + almond butter
- cashew butter
- sunflower butter + chocolate
- peanut butter
- almond butter + carob
- granola + coconut
- sesame butter + dates
- cherries + berries
- cashew caramel
- apples + walnuts
My favs so far are cherries + berries and banana + almond butter and my boys love the peanut butter chocolate chip. Mini bars are currently only available in a box of 24 bars. I recommend getting the assortment so you can try them all! Use code MACROMOMMA for 10% off your online purchase (one time use only, good through 6/30/15.)
Note: The minis are not available on Amazon yet but you can find good prices on full sized bars if you dig around a bit.
(Yep, I got some free samples but I’m telling you the truth – I love this product!)

These look really delicious and they’re from a Wisconsin company! Are they only sold online? I would love to have a few to take with me when I’m out running around.

Lori – check this store finder to get them near you! It looks like they are in a lot of Whole Foods and other natural food coops and stores. https://gomacro.com/#/home/?storelocator=true

These sound yummy! Now we have enough choices that my kids can think of it as “fun” food, even if it has ingredients that are good for them.
