Just a quick head’s up that I’m heading to Los Angeles this Thursday for the second annual ShiftCon Eco Blogging Conference. ShiftCon is a social media conference focusing on health, wellness and the environment. It’s a collaboration of changemakers including bloggers, social media professionals and social activists. We all get together once a year to teach, inspire and empower each other to communicate to our audiences the value of shifting the way we eat and live for better health and a better planet.
During the 3 day conference, we will attend panels, participate in workshops, network with brands offering eco-minded products and services, and of course spend time sharing ideas in spontaneous conversations. What I love best is hanging out with bloggers and activists I admire and getting to know each other in real life!

Beauty and the Beast Panel
This year I’m honored to be a speaker at ShiftCon! I’m speaking on a panel called Beauty and the Beast: Navigating the World of Green Beauty, along with Lori from Groovy Green Livin and Lindsay from lindsaydahl.com and Beautycounter. Our goal is to help make sense of the world of better beauty and personal care products – because it can be pretty darned confusing! Lori has been an advocate for safer products for many years and Lindsay is a former director for Safer Chemicals Healthy Families and I had the pleasure of working with her there. Both are a wealth of knowledge – and hopefully I’ll add a thing or two from my years of covering this topic!
After the conference, I’ll share some of what we covered here on the blog – like how to read a label so you can avoid greenwashing, and some resources to help you find the better products you want. It may be confusing but there are so many greener, safer, better products available today and I want to help you discover them!
Meanwhile, keep an eye on Instagram and Facebook – I’ll be posting fun pics from the conference throughout the weekend!

Hi Micaela,
Nice to meet you. Discovered your blog as I search for other green living bloggers. I actually just started blogging on green living and my site is just now up this week. Generating content even as we speak! 🙂 In the meantime, I’m reaching out to other bloggers to make like connections with people of like mind. I see you’re going to a Green conference! Love it! I’d be interested in hearing about it when you return, particularly as I am very interested in healthy green living in cosmetics. Very interested in that. Well enjoy your trip and bring back lots of info. Safe journey and God’s speed.
