DIY Chalkboard Paint Project

Lullaby Paints chalkboard paint toy box via mindfulmomma.com Who doesn’t love a chalkboard? A big, blank slate to scribble and draw whatever you want….and then erase it all and start over again? Yes please!! I’ve often thought a whole chalkboard wall would be fun to have in the house, but I don’t quite have the guts to do it. Maybe some day….. But 8-year-old Liam and I recently had the chance to do a small chalkboard project together. Lullaby Paints, maker of award-winning, safe, eco-friendly paints, sent us a chalkboard paint kit to review.

Easy chalkboard toy box

Liam thought it would be cool to have a chalkboard toy box. Since we already had this wooden, rolling toy box from Ikea, we decided to give it a makeover instead of buying something new. First, we taped off the edges with the blue painter’s tape. Then we squeezed the paint into the handy, plastic tray. Liam applied the first coat of paint with the roller brush. 15. It really looks easy to do. 🙂 This is a great way to keep kids productive and let them do their own organizing task at home.

But if I would have that for myself, I’d put all my paper docs for filing. All should fit well inside it. 🙂
