RESPONSIBILITY MATTERS

Traditional fashion has massive environmental costs, accounting for 10 percent of the world’s carbon emissions. The industry is the second-largest consumer of water and toxic textile dyes are the second largest water polluter. Meanwhile, 85 percent of all textiles end up in the landfill each year, and synthetic clothing made from petroleum byproducts, like polyester and nylon, will never decompose. But Hass materials are natural, biodegradable, and renewable. These materials have less of an environmental footprint than traditional synthetic fabrics, using less energy and water. By exclusively harnessing natural, non-toxic dyes, we also ensure our pieces are processed in a way that is safe and responsible for people and the planet.

SLOW FASHION

SLOW FASHION

Hass is not fast fashion. We want you to buy less and wear it more. We build our clothing with its lifecycle at the forefront. That’s why we design each piece with timeless elegance, durable natural materials, and careful attention to each stitch. Doing it this way costs a little more up front, but given their versatility, functionality, and style, our clothes are more practical and economical than something discarded after a season or two.

BUY ONE, FEED ONE

BUY ONE,

Through our membership with 1% for the Planet, we’ve teamed up with nonprofit City Harvest to fight food waste and food insecurity by donating a meal with every purchase on our website.

MADE IN LOS ANGELES

MADE IN LOS ANGELES

More than 95 percent of clothing is imported from overseas. Often, the clothes are made in factories with devastating environmental impacts and terrible human rights violations, including forced child labor. Intensive carbon emissions from transporting garments overseas increases the greenhouse gasses that lead to the climate crisis. That’s why we stitch nearly all Hass products right here in LA (we source our Alpaca line from a regenerative farm in the Peruvian Andes) with the finest fabrics from around the globe. California has the most strict standards for social and environmental responsibility in the world, and the Global Organic Textile Standard has thoroughly vetted our factory partners.
