Have you seen a lot of hearts in your Pinterest feed lately? Yeah, me too!
Pinterest + Valentine’s Day. Now there’s a match made in heaven!
I’ve been drooling over the incredible chocolate desserts and searching for fun Valentine’s Day crafts & cards to make with the kids. But have you noticed how many of the card ideas include candy? Since when did candy become the new standard for school Valentine’s Day cards?
We don’t need no stinkin’ candy! There are plenty of homemade, candy-free Valentine’s Day card ideas out there if you look. I rounded a bunch up on my Green Valentine’s Day Pinterest board. Here are a few examples:
Grab a stash of rulers, red paper and heart stickers and you’ll be ready to rule the classroom with these You Rule cards.
You gotta love these creepy, crawly, crafty….Love bugs!!
Another take on Love Bugs: Perfect if you happen to have a stash of wine corks sitting around (guilty!)
Fresh fruit? Yes please!!
Teacher gift? How about a heart-shaped felted square (made from old sweaters!) that doubles as a coaster? Just pin a note on it and you’re good to go!
Yarn hearts are just the ticket for that warm, fuzzy Valentine feeling.
It doesn’t get any simpler than this. Get messy with some paint and use a cookie cutter to create heart-shaped mini art cards.
