Recipe: Simple Superfood Yogurt Bowl

Simple Superfood Yogurt Bowl

Thank you to Stonyfield for sponsoring this post.

Small but mighty. That’s the way my weekday breakfasts need to be. Something easy to make but that will keep me satisfied until lunch. I’ve found that getting a good amount of protein in my breakfast is the key for that lasting energy. Plus fiber to keep me full longer. Avocado toast or nut butter on toast (whole grain of course) is a great option, and so is my family favorite – overnight oats.

But I get bored with the same old breakfast every day. So I invented something new: A combo of Stonyfield Greek yogurt plus something you may not have tried yet: Qi’a Superfood Breakfast Cereal from Nature’s Path. It’s a simple idea for a tasty, nutrition-packed and long-lasting breakfast.

Qi’a Superfood Cereal

You’re probably thinking, what the heck is Qi’a and isn’t it spelled wrong? Nope – this cereal is a rule-breaker from the start!

Qi’a (pronounced kee-ah) is a combination of 3 trendy superfoods: chia, hemp and buckwheat, plus vanilla-dusted dried cranberries and slivered almonds. With all those tiny little seeds, it looks nothing like your traditional breakfast cereal, but one small but mighty 2 tablespoon serving is a great source of plant-based protein, fiber, ALA Omega’s, as well as amino acids, essential vitamins and minerals.

The combo of Qi’a Superfood Cereal and Stonyfield Greek Yogurt makes total sense. Both are power-packed with protein and nutrition. Both are certified USDA Organic and non-GMO.

Start by soaking 2 tablespoons of Qi’a cereal in 1/4 cup almond milk. Let sit for 5 minutes or more so the chia seeds can soften and expand.

Next, combine 1/2 cup Stonyfield Greek yogurt (I used plain but flavored would be delicious too), and the Qi’a mixture in the same bowl.

Sprinkle with a bit of extra Qi’a cereal just for fun!
